At Buckingham, students have the opportunity to learn not only through formal teaching but through their peers. This can be made possible by means of group projects or even from sharing thoughts and experiences over a coffee during breaks!

We also group similar subjects together that enable staff and students from related areas to benefit from each others' knowledge.

The resources and range of different specializations within each school of study ensures students get the most out of their academic time here. They do not just gain specific skills from the course, but also do learn about the wider context of the academic area or chosen profession. Many of our courses also teach the transferable skills that are so important to future study & work such as good numerical and communication skills, and the ability to research and present a topic.

Term dates
The calendar year is divided into 3 segments, and we conduct all courses at the college to fit in with this format, whereby each separate course will be scheduled around the term dates for that year. Please note that the amount of holidays per course, and the dates for these holidays are both at the college's own discretion, and they may be changed without any prior notice given.

Course material
For English courses, you will need a student book for classes, and a workbook for homework and private study, and together these will cost on average about £20.00.  For I.T. courses, the books are slightly more expensive, but this is due to the technical detail involved with these types of courses, and the same goes for Business courses.  The college does try to pre-order all course books for its students, but we are only going to the shops just like you. So, if the book is out of stock at the college, then it is the students' responsibility to go out and buy the required books for these courses.
