The IAM’s Introductory Award helps you build the knowledge, skills and understanding you need now AND can help you move up the ladder in the world of work.

Programme Aim

The aim of the Introductory Award is to introduce students to administration and the management of administration in the workplace. It also aims to provide a basis from which more advanced administrative skills and knowledge can be developed.

  • From 3 months to 1 year
Time of Completion
  • Unit 1 Skills for Administrators.
  • Unit 2 Individuals within organisation.
  • Unit 3 Organisation Skills.
 

Registration

Students are required to register with the Institute to receive their award. It is not necessary to become a member of the IAM.
 
 

Assessment

Assessment of this qualification is in two parts:

1. Multiple Choice Examination

2. Creation of a Learning Diary that records evidence of skills for employment as well as academic achievements
 

Study Time

The Introductory Award requires 60 hours of study over as short or long a time as you wish, from 1 week to 12 months.
 

Entry Criteria
The Introductory Award is open to all candidates (irrespective of previous experience) interested in a basic introduction to Administration, as an initial starting point for getting (back) in to formal education or work, or improving performance at work.
 
VISA
